Hi all.
i just joined this great community after lurking around for ages... ill be uplaoding some more of my work soon, once i sort it out!
A little bit about me and my art work.
ive been painting, drawing, and making things since i can remember, and with the advent of the computer and its wonderfull new tools and options, seemed like a natural enviroment for me to move into. i got into playing online multyplayer games and naturally progressed into gaming community modding scene as a skinner and texture artist, ive worked on a few mods (mainly for the tribes 1 and 2 community) Under tha name of Trinity. and then got involved with Starseige 2845 project and worked with these guys for two years as one of the lead texture artists ( ill post some of my work there later)..
at the moment im im working on a CG movie called "Darwin's Contraption" wich is based in the EVE Online Universe. and should be a cool little movie!
we have a trailer coming out in about 7 weeks., i'll put up a link when thats available!
so in the mean time enjoy my works and feel free to comment, im always looking for ways to improve my skills..

if youre textureing for a game, then the size of the texture map and the poly count of the model do matter. in that case, smaller is better! as this reduces the load on the game engine, and you get faster game play!
normally texture maps for games are 1024x1024 & 512x512, with some newer games using 2048x2048 due to the higher machine specs they require..
im sure if you looked through the DA resources you could find plenty of tutorials to help you out with lighting, unwrapping and texturing..
Also how you go about lighting the models?
I am interested it doing texturing and 3d modeling and you love some pointers.
I hope to be adding some 3d models soon.
